Question:

Is there a maximum file limit that the software can handle? We use a DVD RAM jukebox to archive data, and its not uncommon for a folder in these archives to contain hundreds of thousands of different files. We just need to know whether there is a limitation on how much Advanced CATaloguer can hold...

Answer:

There is no limit to the size of a directory. The sole problem is the amount of time it will take to open a huge catalogue.

Question:

How I can put my catalogue in read-only mode?

Answer:

You can set a password "for saving" in the properties tab of the catalogue. Without knowledge of this password it is impossible to save the protected catalogue.

Question:

The process of scanning is too slow...

Answer:

Go to the Options (F9) dialog and alter the options on the tabs "Descriptions" and "Archives".

Question:

Why is my CD not automatically ejected, though the option "Eject media after adding" is checked?

Answer:

Some programs intended for burning CD-ROM"s (NERO, etc.) can block the ejection of a disk. For normal operation, please close any such program before working in Advanced CATaloguer Pro.
